Where is Saturn in your chart?

Seaoglass Thu, January 11, 2007 - 10:17 PM by Seaoglass

Just curious where everyone's Saturn is in their chart and when is your Saturn Return? If you have already experienced it, how did it play out according to the sign and house placement?

Mine is 7 Virgo 05 at the end of 6H.

My return should start around November 2007. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out.

If this is true, what does a SECOND Saturn return in your chart mean? Anybody knows?

I've heard that it means you get to learn the lessons you didn't learn the first go round.

Thanks, Seaoglass. That makes sense. I studied astrology a long time ago (I am not a young lad, anymore) but dropped it since it seemed you can interpret a chart anyway you like. But maybe there's some truth in it, after all.

I got interested in this tribe when I saw your post today because, as a Capricorn, Saturn is my ruling planet and is quite prominent in my chart. Still, how do you determine when it "returns," as you are asking? And, to where does it return?

Do you have your birth chart handy? If not, you may go to and input your birth data in order to obtain your chart. I'm hoping that you have your time of birth in order to get the most accurate information from your chart.

Basically Saturn takes 29.5 years to return to the exact location it was when you were born. Usually there are very specific lessons Saturn wants to teach us and this is the point of culmination for those lessons. So, if you are on your second go round, then you would find out exactly where Saturn is now and when it will cross your natal Saturn. How it plays out depends upon which house and sign it is in.

I'm still pretty new to this, so I am only giving you very basic information. There is so much more to understanding which areas in your chart Saturn rules, such as Capricorn for yourself. This is a great place to learn, so welcome!

Here is a link to my chart, and if you find Saturn, over there at the end of my 6th House, that is where Saturn is. The transiting Saturn (green outside circle) will cross my natal Saturn between November 2006 and July 2008. I will most likely be experiencing those lessons Saturn wants me to learn about work and daily routine and health.

Thanks again, Seaoglass, for your reply and the information.

Yes, I do have my birth chart handy. I pulled it out of my files to look at since I hadn't seen it in years. Years ago I studied astrology enough to do my own chart and I had one done professionally, so I know it is accurate. I am skeptical about the accuracy of all this but am interested enough to find out when Saturn will pass over its natal position in my horoscope.

From the chart you linked to, I gather Saturn is now in Virgo (and, for you, that's the sixth house). If this is correct it gives me an idea of when Saturn will make its transition for me (I guess). But I am reluctant about divulging too much information in a public forum like this. If you care to know of my experiences, I will send you a message in private. In any case, good luck to you, because I remember from my studies that Saturn is a real task master!

correction: I just looked at that you refer to and it says Saturn is still in Leo (23rd degree, I believe).

My friend told me that most people have either one big hit on their Saturn Return or they have three. A few of us get it twice (myself). When the transiting Saturn is about 2-3 degrees on either side of your natal Saturn is when it hits you the hardest. The 2,3 times thing happens because Saturn is retrograde 5 months out of the year. For instance, my natal Saturn is at 25 degress Leo. On Dec 6th, transiting Saturn was at 25 degrees Leo, then it stopped and went retrograde. Now it is at 23 degrees Leo. When it goes direct, it will be at 18 degrees but guess what?! It's going to pass through 25 degrees Leo AGAIN! I feel bad for the people getting it 3 times! Oi vay!

there is also a lot of saturn in leo here.

i have heard that a satun return for those with saturn in leo is hardest the first time around than later in life. basically, you go through all your end of life issues at around 29. thinking of age and death and legacy and what not.

has anyone else ever heard that?

my natal Saturn is in Libra, 12th House.
Saturn return happens in 2011-2012;
coinciding with transiting Pluto conj natal Moon.
i wonder if i'll have to see a therapist then.

my Saturn is also in Libra (not sure which house right off the top of my head).

I really do feel like I started feeling Saturn's returning energy at th age of 26 though...
do you think this is possible? Maybe Saturn hates me especially badly. ;)

Mine is in Libra in the 2nd House.

What does the house placement mean in regards to Saturn? Will I have to
struggle financially???

Gabby, I had the same feeling at 26, and I think you might want to read into the moon's nodes in addition to Saturn. The nodes are important in terms of where you are going vs. where you are coming from in life. Also, where is Uranus transiting your chart? If it is entering a new house, then you may sense a change happening also. Of course, there could be a number of things. I'm not sure what you are going through, but you could start to feel the pull of "responsibility" from Saturn a little early, depending on where Saturn (i.e. if transiting Saturn has started to move into your second house, but not actually within approx. 6deg of your natal Saturn) is in your 2nd house. It could mean financial restrictions, issues regarding your possessions, or have a lot to do with your personal resources (how you value yourself). Let us know how it goes!!!!!

ugh... conjunct natal Pluto. That sounds like it'll be rough. :( Pluto transits always hit me hard.

Mine is in the 7th in Virgo and my return will be exact for the final time in August 2009. Huge devastating break-up followed by beautiful love affair turned into steady relationship. :) Relationships with people are difficult!!!!!

I wrote about the different houses here:

My Saturn is in Libra in the 5th house. Mercury squares Saturn in my chart. Can anyone tell me what to watch out for as Saturn has just entered Libra?

My Saturn is 16.45 degrees Leo conjunct my 2nd /3rd house cusp and it returned about 3 years ago. It's due again,if I'm correct, when I'm almost 63 years old. I'm 33 now.
